About him

Gianluca Tesauro grew up between the sound of waves , sun light and colorful ceramic shapes in Vietri sul Mare, a small village on the Amalfi Coast, in the South of Italy.

After a BA in graphic design, he started working as a graphic designer in Naples and as a wrist watche designer in Salerno. He then moved to Milan to complete his MA in Visual Design at SPD.

Attracted by intersections between the various design fields, he started working at the Palazzo Reale curating graphics and communications for the museum's cultural exhibitions.
Afterward, he joined the Tribe Communication team, a hand-crafted communication agency, where he learned what advertising
mean, working for clients such as Parmigiano Reggiano, Boggi, Costa Crociere and Luxottica.

After three years in Milan, Gianluca moved to London where he started collaborating with Jorge Manes Rubio and Seethisway, his research design agency. There, he began and continues to be the graphic hand to many of his projects.

In 2010, he was back to Salerno
where, among a staff of architects, bartenders and chefs he has been the creative director of Chilometrozero, an organic slow food restaurant based on local products.

I
n 2011 he moved to New York City where studying at SVA with Richard Schulman he fell in love for documentary photography, and definely got to the point that graphics are just half of telling a story.

In NYC he had the opportunity to join The International Office, a Manhattan
based agency, working as freelancer on a project for Volvo and West Sweden.

Now he's back to Salerno where he joined the Satoboy Collective working on art events creation. His desire is to move again in a new place but, please, don't tell it to the Collective.

Gianluca Tesauro, according his school's certificate is a visual designer, but actually he doesn't feel at ease with classifications.
